HOCKEY PEI MEMORANDUM

SUBJECT: ANNOUNCEMENT OF CIRCUIT BREAKER MEASURES AND ITS EFFECT ON HOCKEY

 

As announced by the Chief Public Health Office this evening, Saturday, February 27th, 2021, Prince Edward Island is moving to a Circuit Breaker, effective Sunday, February 28^th at 8:00 AM.

 

Circuit breaker measures will be in place from Sunday, February 28^th at 8:00 AM to Sunday, March 14^th to help break the chain of transmission of COVID-19. As a result, Hockey PEI will make the following changes to its Return to Hockey Plans effective, Sunday, February 28^th at 8:00 AM until further notice:

 

• Individual and team practices are permitted under the newly announced circuit breaker measures with up to 50 people permitted within your on-ice cohort.
• All gameplay is now prohibited.
• All tournament play continues to be prohibited.
• There will be no spectator capacity allowed inside arenas for any Hockey PEI sanctioned activity until further notice.
• A continued effort must be placed on accurate contact tracing and record keeping.

 

Hockey PEI asks all its members to abide by Public Health measures to allow us to return to normal as soon as possible. Hockey PEI remains commititted to the completion of the 2020-2021 hockey season, including Provincial Championships.
